What Are the GED Tests?
The GED Tests cover the same subjects that people study in high school. The five subject areas are: Language Arts, Writing; Language Arts, Reading; Social Studies; and Mathematics.

Who administers the GED Tests? The GED Tests are the five tests of General Educational Development. The GED Testing Service of the American Council on Education makes them available to adults who did not graduate from high school.

Why Should You Take the GED Tests? A GED certificate is widely recognized as the equivalent of a high school diploma and can help you in the following ways:

•• Employment •• People with GED certificate have proven their determination to succeed by following through with their education. Many employers will not hire someone who does not have a high school diploma or GED certificate. Future promotions and job changes will also be easier for GED graduates.
•• Education •• Technical schools, vocational schools, and other training programs usually requires a high school diploma or the equivalent for enrollment. Colleges and universities always require a high school diploma or the equivalent.
•• Personal Development •• You have the opportunity to accomplish some important goals. Attaining a GED certificate can be an ultimate aspiration, or the first step toward other educational aims. It is a positive move toward reaching your full potential.
